Davis Polk & Wardwell has announced the promotion of Samuel Kang, Head of the firm’s Korea Practice in its Hong Kong office, to partner. This marks the firm’s first partner promotion in Hong Kong since 2021.

Samuel Kang focuses on cross-border M&A and private equity transactions across the Asia-Pacific region. He specializes in complex cross-border matters including leveraged buyouts, take-private deals, strategic alliances, corporate restructurings and growth capital financings. He advises private equity sponsors, corporates and financial investors, and has handled numerous large-scale cross-border investment and financing transactions based in South Korea.

Prior to this promotion, Samuel Kang had worked at Davis Polk for more than seven years, and previously completed a secondment at TPG Global.
